Fostering and nurturing the rich and lively cultural environment in Bastrop is our primary mission.

Who We Serve

The City: We use public and private donations to support and cultivate the growth of a vibrant live music scene in order to engage our community and promote tourism and commerce for the people and businesses businesses of Bastrop, TX.

The Artists: We provide resources and performance opportunities to Bastrop County musicians by hosting live music events at local venues, songwriting and performance workshops, networking with established regional and national artists, and the creation of a centralized community of musicians for mutual support and opportunity. We guarantee a living wage from all of our live music events through at-the-door donations and ticket sales supplemented with public and private funding and donations.

The Community: We provide the residents of Bastrop access to musical and cultural enrichment by bringing national, regional, and local artists to local venues. We host events that encourage community involvement such as music instruction, music clinics, outdoor festivals, and music education opportunities for aspiring musicians, young and old.

The Future: Our plans include scholarships for young musicians, mentorships and continuing education for established and developing artists, and assisting with access to healthcare and mental health resources for musicians and their families.

Our Mission

The Bastrop Live Music Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to support a thriving music scene in Bastrop by organizing events to promote local musicians, bring national and regional artists to local venues, and increase access to music education and mentorship for the next generation of musicians.

Rural communities often get skipped over when national and regional acts are booking their tours, and rural musicians are often limited in their work opportunities and exposure. Our organization bridges the gap between touring artists, rural venues, and local musicians to create opportunities for audiences and artists to experience a richer and more diverse music scene in Bastrop.

Access to live music performance is a quality of life issue for any city or town. The experience of listening, moving, and being moved together helps foster bonds of community and connection that spread outward into the world to create tighter knit societies and foster compassion, kindness and understanding among diverse populations.
